Day 1 Sunday
We woke up early and went on exciting
tour to Turkey. The trip was organized as an activity in a project Erasmus + ,,
Together we learn, united we stand''. Our flight was as follows , we flew
- from Warsaw to Istanbul,
-from Istanbul to Antalya,
-from Antalya by bus to our hotel ,,
Sonet Apart ''.
Polish team arrived late at night and
very tired quickly fell asleep.
Day 2 Monday
The second day started with breakfast,
than we went to Fethiye for some
sightseeing. We walked the streets that are used to be very busy during
summer holiday. We admired the awesome scenery, especially we were amazed by the
view of the sea surrounded by high mountains. We also visited Fethiye Museum
located off the main street in the centre of the town,
next to a local school. In the museum there were many Lycian artifacts, some of which
were found during the excavations of Fethiye (ancient Telmessos). After
visiting the museum we went to have lunch in a local restaurant, where we
ordered turkish specials. The day was very interesting , it ended with a late
meal in our hotel.

folklore dance. Later we ate lunch at their school canteen and had some break.
Next we went to watch a presentation about Turkish education system. Teachers
exchanged gifts. After that we visited lessons and integrated with Turkish
students. In the classroom we had an opportunity to talk about our school and
region. Our Prezi prezentations were watched and discussed. We came back to the

Internet.

Day 5 Thursday
On Thursday, after breakfast we went on
a nice tour to Tlos and Saklikent. Tlos is one of the oldest and most important
cities in ancient Likii. It’s laid on the rocky cliff. There are extensive
ruins of many buildings from the past and also we can find there the famous
tombs of Likii. Then, we saw the Ravine of Saklikent. It is narrow passageway located near Tlos,
very close to the Karacay River as well. It is 18 km long and 300m deep… one of
the deepest canyons in the world. There is just beautiful! After this full of
emotions day and tour we finally returned to the hotel to rest for a while. The
best was this: We could “move back in time” to see and really experience these
ancient architectural and nature miracles. I’ll never forget this day!
Day 6 Friday
On Friday we went to the “Ghost Town” -
Kayakoy. Of course people don't call this city "Ghost Town" because
there is frightfully. The story begins many years ago when Greeks arrived to
this city from Aegean Islands and stayed
there. After the Turkish War of Independence in 1924 about 20 000 of residents
stayed forced to vacate their houses. They were forcibly displaced and exiled
to the Rhodes Island. In the city survived only two churches, of course we went
there and we could experience and admire paintings on the walls and
architecture of these buildings.
Then, we went for lunch that was
prepared especially for us. We could taste certain kind of traditional pancakes
and I bet you… it was outstanding.
I will never forget Turkish bath at the
end of the day. We had everything there… sauna, massages and many different
attractions. That was great idea to rest a little bit after long day. Friday
was definitely my favorite day!

Day 7 Saturday
On this day, we got up very early to get
to Pamukkale - with its famous limestone
terraces. “Pamukkale” can be translated as "Cotton Castle"
("pamuk" is Turkish cotton, "kale" - the castle), and so it
looks like this place: from a distance the land resembles white piled wool or
cotton, which is something unique and really amazing. Limestone terraces are
certainly the real wonder of nature and a gem of the Turkish soil.
How did it come to forming such shapes?
It is the effect of mineral water, which comes from the local hot springs.
Pamukkale town is in fact located on the place where was the earth's crack. There
you can walk barefoot, enjoying pleasantly warm water. But you should also be
careful not to slip and fall into water (what happened to one of us J)
Above Pamukkale there is the ancient
city of Hierapolis, which funcioned as a health resort. In the middle you can
see the remnants of the temple of Apollo. The priests who lived there, were
looking for inspiration in the nearby spring waters called Plutonium.
Day 8
On Sunday we got up very early to catch
the flight from Dalaman to Istanbul, and from Istambul to Warsaw. Poland
welcomed us with the sun and with unusual for this time of year warm weather.
Well, at last we saw the snow on the tops of Turkish mountains ....
