The programme for the first day was called ”Meet and greet”.
At 8.45 all participants met in a
conference room. We
participated in welcoming ceremony. Presentation of countries and schools took
place. After snacks break we enjoyed a school tour. It was fantastic
– all these modern classrooms, printing machines, TV studio… After lunch
break at NOM NOM restaurant we had a meeting at Krek’s Square and
went to Ljubljana Castle . The Time machine - guided tour (with English guides)
was interesting and funny.The day finished with
dinner at Vodnikov restaurant.
On our third day in
Slovenia, at 10 o’clock we went on Ljubljana city sightseeing tour. Students
were given special worksheets. Next step was Union Brewery Museum and Cekin
Mansion - National Museum of Contemporary History. Later was a lunch break. I
admit it was so delicious! I think it was very fascinating to find out about
slovenian history. Later we went to the International Bowling Tournament. I
really enjoyed it. After that everyone went for delicious dinner. It was a
really great day with a lot of interesting activities.

On Wednesday we got up very early. After breakfast we went
to Postojna where we could admire the cave. It has 20 km underground rooms and
hallways. Tour of the amazing cave lasted about 2 hours. Later we went to the
Park of Military History which is located in Pivka. It is not just the largest
museum complex in the Republic of Slovenia, but also the only military museum
in Europe where you can find everything from the oldest existing bows to the
extraordinary collection of armoured vehicles and military aircraft. After
visiting both sights, we went back to hotel. The day was exteremely tiring.
Part of us was so tired, while the second part could not wait to visit the next
attractions.

On Thursday at 7:30
we had brekfast. After brekfast at 9:00 we had a gathering at the hotel , from
there we went to theater. There we had a rehearsal. The show started at 10:00.
We could see there different performances other countries. Our country
presented polish dance- polonaise. After all the performances at 12:30 we went
at Lunch to NOM NOM. After dinner we went to school in Ljubljana. In school we
worked in groups. At the beginning we must write ours name in crossword. After
we must write on white board „ What we liked it most in Slovenia “in ours
languages. After one person from each country went to interview. At the end we
went outside to take a photos for the competition. We got a card with photo
topics. We had two hours. After took photos the winner was selected. After
finished work we went to the hotel and had a free time. At 19:00 we went at the
supper to the Vodnikov Hram. There we got certificates and we could listen to
music and dance. After finshed supper we came back to the hotel.
17.03.2017r.
After breakfast we had to say goodbye to our friends from
Turkey who came home. We drove them to the airport, and we drove to Sempeter
and visits of the Roman necropolis. There a guide told us stories presented by
reliefs on graves.
Then we went to Ptuj and visited Regional Museum Ptuj Ormoz
in the castle. There is a large collection of paintings, old furniture and
tapestries.
Next we went to saw roman reenactment group Poetovio LXIX.
We saw armor, weapons and disguises for the carnival.
After that we had lunch at restaurant Zila.
The last attraction was drive and tour of Celje. We saw
there water tower. It was once the tower of the city. From there we saw
beautiful views of the countryside.
Then we went back to Ljubljana and went to dinner at
Vodnikov hram restaurant.
18.03.2017r.
After breakfast we gathered at the hotel at the reception.
We went to Bled, where we visited Bled Castle with an audio guide. From there
was an incredible view of the mountains, Lake Bled and the island on which the
church was located. After leaving the castle we had to say goodbye to our
friends from Italy.
We returned to Ljubljana. We walked around town and bought
souvenirs.
Last time we had dinner at Vodnikov hram. We said goodbye to
our friends from the Czech Republic and Portugal and then we went back home.
I enjoyed spending time with newcomers and improving my
English. I miss this, but I hope we will meet again someday.
